About Unyque Daniel, MSW, RSW 

I welcome adults and adolescents (14+) to my counselling practice, offering a space of compassion and honesty where you can feel supported and understood. I specialize in trauma-informed, attachment-focused counselling for individuals impacted by relationship trauma, including emotional abuse and attachment wounds rooted in early life, as well as broader mental health concerns. With over five years of experience as a clinical social worker, including work in mental health across CLSCs, hospitals, and community organizations in Montreal, my goal is to help you strengthen your connection with yourself, make sense of your experiences, and build the confidence to move forward in ways that feel right for you.

In our work together, I take a collaborative approach. We'll explore the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that shape your life and uncover how they may be holding you back. Together, we'll identify new perspectives and practical steps toward reclaiming your identity, confidence, and emotional well-being. My practice is grounded in an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lens, with attention to the ways trauma, culture, race, gender, sexuality, and other intersecting identities shape your story.

My commitment to this work is both professional and personal. Growing up, I witnessed conjugal violence in my own household. I understand the lasting impact it can have on someone's sense of safety and self-worth. This lived experience, combined with my professional training, allows me to bring empathy, insight, and dedication to every session. I understand not only the therapeutic aspects of trauma, but also the real-life complexities of moving forward after abuse.​
